Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans to release album celebrating music of Judy Garland

  • West End stars Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans are to release an album together.
  • Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans first rose to fame on BBC One’s musical talent show Over The Rainbow which followed the search for an actress to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard Of Oz. The album, produced by Grammy-nominated producer James McMillan, will mark a decade since the show first aired. Ahead of the album’s release in the summer a first single, The Rainbow’s End, is available to download and stream from today. You can pre-order the album here. Lauren said: “It was very tough to choose what to record as there are so many incredible Judy songs, but we wanted to include songs that we performed on Over the Rainbow and also songs that we hope people will know and love’. Sophie added: “This is the biggest project we have done together since Over the Rainbow. We have sang at concerts together but never anything this big!” Following the album’s release, Lauren & Sophie will host a live show at London’s Crazy Coqs on 27 July with tickets on sale now to watch either in person or online.
