A Very Alpha Club Christmas
- This prestigious club's sparkling Christmas Ball was a feast of festive fun for members and guests
- Following on from its hugely successful VIP party at the Baglioni Hotel in October to raise funds for the Royal Hospital Chelsea Scarlets Appeal, Alpha Club brought a festive touch to the campaign with its sparkling annual Christmas Ball. In true Alpha Club style, philanthropy got a sprinkle of glamorous festive spirit and fun was serious business. Members and guests of this prestigious private members’ club were treated to a sensational evening at the five-star Landmark London Hotel. Champagne flowed in the magnificent atrium before guests were guided through a mesmerising Winter Wonderland to a four-course banquet, fine wines and top-class entertainment. Alpha ambassadors, including legendary boxer John Conteh and mezzo-soprano Friederike Krum, patron of the Scarlets Appeal, were joined by Father Christmas who took time out of his busy schedule to hand out a few early presents from Fortnum & Mason. Then it was time for the entertainment and Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jack Pack kicked things off in style with their mix of Rat Pack and Christmas favourites, followed by a feast of West End luminaries including Mazz Murray, Emily Tierney, Michael Xavier, Ben Forster and Alpha ambassador Lauren Samuels, whose renditions of all-time favourites, from I Am What I Am to Bohemian Rhapsody, brought the audience to their feet in appreciation. SPARKLE AND SHINE Even the evening’s main business had a touch of Christmas magic. Alpha Club proudly announced that all proceeds from the raffle and silent auction would go to the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s Scarlets Appeal. Prizes included donations from Holland & Holland, Bombshell London and Philip Treacy, and the action culminated in a thrilling live auction for a once-in-a-lifetime chance for two people to join the exclusive Alpha Club VIP Purple Trip Safari in 2020, raising vital funds for this revered institution. Just when the lucky audience thought the evening couldn’t get any better, Jessie J appeared with her band to steal the show with hit after hit, including the excellent Price Tag, to get everyone dancing. As she joined guests on the dancefloor during her stellar performance, guest and X Factor winner, Ben Haenow, was Wild about her Masterpiece: “It was an absolute jaw dropping live show, and probably one of the best artists I’ve seen live. The vocals were insane, the band was incredible. “The energy Jessie bought to the performance was amazing and she had everybody up on their feet from the first song till the last. An unforgettable experience.”
